Aluminum Extrusions

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

There are two types of extrusions which are direct and indirect which are processes that are used in aluminum extrusions. The extrusion industry is well over a century old and there still are many fundamentals of extrusion technology, including principals, processes, mechanics and variables and their effects on extrusion that the industry needs to be educated on.

Thermoprene focuses on the very latest and best extrusion technology. With years of expertise in aluminum extrusion, plastic extrusion and rubber extrusion, Thermoprene competitively meets your most challenging polymer & aluminum forming requirements.

Heat Sinks

Friday, May 9th, 2008

This heat sink application is an example of a very small part, produced with a nominal wall thickness of .028″. The cross sectional dimension is approximately 1″, and about the same in length. These parts are extruded from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. Finishing on the parts is simply cut to length and tumble, or vibratory deburred. This process gives the part a slightly muted finish, but it is basically mill finish, or as extruded. Specialty finishes can also be achieved from vibratory processes, included ball burnishing for a bright finish. Thermoprene is confident that we can assist you in any of your aluminum extrusion need.
